Abilities:

  • Thanks to his gorgeous moth-like wings Luminos is able to fly, and that pretty high and far. He struggles to fly in the rain though, since his wings must not get too wet

  • He produces and emits light form his whole body constantly. The part that shines the brightest, however, is his beautiful wings, which glow even more intensely when touched by moonlight. That way he can lighten up the night in many different colours. The way he glows is particularly strong and bright. Unlike other creatures, the glowing requires almost no energy and he has the ability to vary the intensity of his glowing from a dimmed one to a dazzling bright one. Even the highest degree consumes only a small amount of energy. This glowing cannot be turned off though

  • He feels a strong connection with the moon and responds strongly to the lunar cycles: During the full moon, his magical energy charges up particularly quickly, and his cognitive abilities reach their peak, allowing him to accomplish almost anything. Conversely, during the new moon, his energy takes significantly longer to regenerate, and he finds it more challenging to concentrate and solve particularly difficult cognitive tasks

  • He is able to track down and even communicate with other moths, moth-like beings or caterpillars using his antennae

  • He is an extraordinary majestic and noble creature, greatly admired by others. This admiration stems not only from his stately appearance but also from his wisdom and experience, which he is always eager to share. When someone is at a loss and in need of heartfelt advice, he is the number one go-to. He is a very patient listener, always making time for the concerns of others. He is accorded much respect and esteem

  • He has the ability of speech and he speaks and understands many different human languages of our world. Of course he is able to interact with his fellow species and other animals and creatures. He can even translate to a certain extent

  • He has a pretty good night vision and can see quite well in the dark. He cannot see through the dark in the Land of Eternal Darkness though. He can also see almost all existing colours

 

Weaknesses:

  • As already mentioned, Luminos has a hard time flying while being exposed to rain or water in general due to his wings getting wet

  • He is generally considered to be rather hydrophobic and cannot swim very well. Therefore, he prefers to stay away from large bodies of water

  • His glowing cannot simply be "stopped". He can dim it to a certain extent, but not turn it off. This makes it difficult for him to hide for example

  • Due to him being older, he is no longer the most agile, yet he is still considered quite fit for his age

  • He is a rather serious being who cannot take every joke and strongly dislikes it when someone behaves immaturely towards him, such as playing pranks or engaging in other types of mischief

  • He is somewhat old-fashioned and stubborn in some of his views and opinions, which younger beings often find hard to understand

  • He has an entirely vegetarian diet, even though he is partly a lion. His favourite foods are vegetables, fruits and nuts

  • He was born in the Land of Eternal Night a gorgeous land which is full of colourful and glowing plants and creatures. As the name implies, the land is in a state of eternal night. It is a very soothing and peaceful land. It has been many years since he moved to the Land of Eternal Dusk. The reason for his move was a long-lost love which, according to him, "should never have been". He was so taken by the tranquillity and beauty of this land that he decided to stay and live there. However, he still feels a deep connection to his homeland and the night that prevails there, so he returns for a visit at least once a month

  • He and every here presented Land of Eternal Dusk resident are good friends. He is especially close to other moth-like creatures, such as his best friend Halley, who is like the daughter he never had and Falena and Shimmer, whom he views as a kind of grandchildren, and who see him as a grandfather, even though they are not related by blood. He also gets along very well with Jasper, who shares similar character traits and viewpoints

  • As already mentioned, Luminos is a senior and is even the oldest being introduced here
